Early Arts Study Club will meet Monday, August 16, at 1:30, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Nancy Baldwin as hostess. Jean Lewis will present the program on Barns.

Vinton American Legion hosting a Meet and Greet for Benton County VA Director

The Vinton American Legion, located at 105 North R Ave, will be hosting a "Meet and Greet" for our new Benton County VA Director, Cara Martin. The event will take place on Wednesday August 11th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend.

Calling all runners (and walkers)! Come join us for the Annual "Bring the Noise 5K" brought to you by Vinton Noon Kiwanis.The Vinton Kiwanis will have a 5K Race & A 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Back in person this year we are lacing up our shoes on August 28.Registration opens 8am-8:45amThe race begins at 9:00 am. Gather on the Eastside of the Benton County Courthouse.

Voyager Dance Team holding Car Wash Saturday, August 7 8:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

The Voyager Dance Team will be holding a freewill donation car wash on Saturday, August 7 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The car wash will be held at John's Quick Stop located on C Ave. in Vinton. The funds raised will support the dance team during the 2021-22 school year.

There will be a Antique and Flea Market held in Vinton on September 10th and 11th, at the Benton County Fairgrounds (1801 2nd ve. Vinton). Dealers will feature vintage, repurposed, primitive, antiques, as well as flea market treasures.You'll find everything from A to Z. Annual Benefit Ride for V-S United Special Olympics Team August 21

The VSU Special Olympics will be holding a Benefit ride on Saturday, August 21. The ride will begin at Ron Da Voo Lounge & Deli in Vinton. Registration will begin for the ride at 10:00 a.m. Cost for the ride will be  $15 per person or $25 per couple. *Kickstands up at 11:00 a.m.ALL PROCEEDS REMAIN WITH OUR LOCAL VSU TEAM!!!Don't have a motorcycle? Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Fundraiser Saturday, August 7th, 5:00 p.m.

Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Fundraiser!This year for our fundraiser we are planning a slow pitch softball game, Wrestlers vs. Vinton Police Department! This is to help raise money to help benefit our wrestling program, and to help raise good awareness for the police department with all the negativity in their world lately!Tickets will cost $5 for students within the VS school district, $10 for non-students, and free admission for individual sponsors.

Quilts of Valor Presentation Scheduled for August 21

There will be a Quilts of Valor Presentation on Saturday, August 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the VFW Post 8884 & Auxilary, located at 5999 25th Ave. Trail, Vinton.The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
